An animal needs proper care, sufficient attention, exercise, and a safe place. An animal also needs to visit the vet occasionally for checkups or vaccinations. Animals should be able to express their natural behavior. This means animals should be able to do what suits them, such as a cat sharpening its claws.
Not every animal is the same. Some animals need a lot of exercise. Others need a lot of rest. Some animals are prone to health problems and require special care. Some animals prefer to be alone. Others need one or more companions.
